Maria Paz Pastry and Cafe is a quietly tucked-away spot on Humaid Alhasm Al Rumaithi Street in Al Danah, Abu Dhabi, that draws in locals more for its pastries than the usual café bustle. More than just a place to grab coffee, it serves as a destination for those looking to indulge in something uniquely rich yet balanced, especially its standout cheesecake.

The atmosphere here reflects its location: modest and unpretentious, making it a low-key stop rather than a destination for long café sessions. You won’t find loud music or sprawling outdoor areas, but instead a focused simplicity where the main event is the pastry itself. Regulars and newcomers alike come here to pick up the cheesecake, which is often shared during family or small-group occasions, as it's generous in portion and priced accessibly for everyday indulgence.

The cheesecake at Maria Paz sets itself apart from typical sweets with a careful balance — it’s not overwhelmingly sugary but instead offers a creamy, light texture paired with a subtle salty note from the cheese. This makes it appealing even to those who normally avoid very sweet desserts. The cake’s clean appearance hints at its straightforward, honest flavor profile, supported by layers that surprise with their soft, bread-like feel and a delicate shredded cheese topping. It’s a sweet treat that invites sharing and makes a quiet statement on quality over flashiness.

For locals, the best time to visit tends to be occasion-based—ordering for family gatherings or to share among friends rather than a spontaneous café stop. Delivery service is also a noted convenience, making it easy to enjoy the specialty without needing to linger in the shop. If you’re exploring Al Danah or nearby, stopping by to pick up a cake offers a glimpse into a sweet tradition appreciated for its consistency and value.

While Maria Paz doesn’t aim to be a café for drift-in coffee moments or lingering afternoons, it’s a reliable spot for a specific craving: a well-crafted cheesecake that honors the local palate and accommodates diverse tastes, both sweet and savory.

I have ordered the famous cheese cake several times for all of our family occasions. The best cake for both taste and money. Delivery is fast and efficient too!

I tried their cheesecake and it was absolutely delightful! What really stood out is how perfectly balanced the flavors are — it’s not overly sweet like many cheesecakes tend to be. Instead, the mild sweetness is beautifully complemented by the natural saltiness of the cheese, creating a rich, smooth, and satisfying taste in every bite. The texture was creamy and light, making it easy to enjoy without feeling too heavy. For the quality you get, the price is very affordable, which makes this an item you definitely shouldn’t miss. Overall, a must-try dessert for anyone who loves well-balanced flavors and great value. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I first tried the cheesecake at Maria Paz in 2023, and it instantly became a favorite with its rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced sweet-and-salty flavor. With the recent Instagram buzz, I tried it again, and it’s just as delicious and consistent. Generous enough to share with 3–4 people, it’s affordable, tasty, and worth every bite.

Secretly hidden, in a small pastry shop, in downtown Abu Dhabi, lives Maria Paz. This is my new favorite cake… …and that’s coming from someone who isn’t a fan of sweets! The cake looks simple and clean. But once you have a taste… you’re in for a big surprise! Creamy exterior and very soft breading covered in a shredded cheese. The filling between layers had me fooled. One taste of the cake had me stop guessing and enjoy the blissful, tasty moment. There are no tables or chairs. The pastry shop has a small entry space. Take your order with the bakers. It’s a humble and warm shop. They are busy. Catch their attention and take your order quickly. Panic ordering from new comers happens often but collect your thoughts and run with it. You can’t beat their price, especially for the huge cheese cakes! Looking forward to Maria Paz cakes being accessible world wide!

My wife is from the Philippines and was craving home style cheese cake. I’m British and had never had this before, but have tried many Filipino desserts. I got the kutsinta and cheese cake, kutsinta for me and cheese cake for the wife. Both were excellent but the cheese cake really surprised me. So buttery and indulgent and I’m definitely be getting this again!
